The beach stretches for miles on end alone the coast of California. By reserving a tiny section for these creatures will help ensure their existence for a longer period of time. These selfless sea animals have resided in La Jolla for many years now and should not be displaced of their home. This displacement can relate to California perfectly. One example is the dispossession of Indian land by incoming Anglos. When will the fight for land end? I say KEEP the sea lions and give them their rightful land!

In my opinoin preserving wild life is way more important than yet another beach for kids and families. California's beaches are crowded to the extreme with people and children. Californians are so interested on making the people happy that they tend to forget that this state has hundreds of different species that also call California home.

Jessica, thank you for doing a article on this subject. i am originally from out of state & was mortified when i saw the drama around this beach. i live here now & see that if you cross over the parking lot there is another set of steps to go down to & enjoy the beach. it is so sad to see such selfishness. thank you for drawing attention to it.peace, joanne
