The Dream of becoming a superhero is something people of all ages have wanted. In Hollywood, movies depicting superheroes are produced on mass and include characters such as: Wonder woman, batman, and superman. But, what attracts us to these glistening warriors? Do we all have a secret passion to wear costumes (besides Halloween time)? Or do we subconsciously wish to have a secret life? "The fundament of a superhero is the guy in tights saving innocent people from bad things" (Frank Miller). Although the costume and saving people’s lives are typical things to like, I think that the most amazing thing about superheroes is their SUPER POWERS! Super powers can vary from: “superhuman strength, the ability to fly, enhanced senses, and the projection of energy bolts”.
Having the ability to fly has always been my dream, and on October 11th I fulfilled that dream. Imagine feeling 120mph winds gush against your face while you look out across the land and fly at 13000 feet and below. I got to experience that feeling when I went sky diving. For a couple of minutes I got to be a superhero, and it was the best feeling in the World! Up, up, and away goes the newly crowned superhero of Mr. Sullivan's English class.
Surely flying, being invisible, or having any super power for that matter is a dream of every kid growing up, and beyond! Perhaps this dream of flying that you speak of can be correlated to the California dream of achieving greatness. People long to discover an elevated way of life here, whether it is in realms of art, business, family, or spirituality.

I have to strongly agree with Taylor’s position. The dream of being a superhero does parallel to the dream of being successful in all aspects of life. What the dream of being a superhero also reminds me of is the California dream of starting a new life. A superhero is usually a normal citizen trying to make a living in an office, or something to that effect, but it seems that they need that extra adrenaline rush to their lives, and so they chose to restore order to their native cities. I guess in a sense we are all superheroes in our own realms, we try to exceed our own personal expectations every time there is a challenge existent.

I can only imagine that skydiving would give the ultimate adrenaline rush! Both kids and adults can both dream of being heroes. This dream usually never leaves once adulthood is reached, but the reasoning behind the dream does. Children fantasize about saving the city, while many adults would like to be heroes so that they can be recognized. In the real world, recognition is key, and this is what drives adults to hang on to the dream of being a hero - so that everyone might know who they are and what they are all about.
